Data Deletion Policy
This page explains what Instagram data Creator Scout stores, how you can request its deletion, and what happens once a deletion request is received. This policy applies to data collected via the Instagram Graph API when you connect your Instagram account to Creator Scout.
1Data We Store
When you connect your Instagram account to Creator Scout, we store the following data:
- Instagram username — your public @handle
- Follower count — total number of Instagram followers at time of last sync
- Profile picture URL — a link to your Instagram profile photo, displayed on your Creator Scout profile
- Engagement metrics — average likes per post, average comments per post, and calculated engagement rate based on your most recent posts
- Access token — an OAuth access token issued by Meta, used to fetch updated metrics on your behalf. This token is stored encrypted and is never shared with third parties.
2How to Delete Your Data
You can request deletion of your Instagram data from Creator Scout in any of the following ways:
Go to your Creator Scout account settings and click Disconnect Instagram. This immediately revokes our access and queues your Instagram data for deletion within 30 days.
Visit instagram.com/accounts/privacy_and_security, find Creator Scout under connected apps, and remove it. Meta will notify us automatically and we will delete your data within 24 hours.
Send an email to contact@creatorscout.in with the subject line Data Deletion Request. Include the Instagram username associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days and send a confirmation.
3What Happens After Deletion
Once a deletion request is received or a disconnect is triggered:
- All Instagram data stored by Creator Scout — including your username, follower count, engagement metrics, and access token — will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
- Your Creator Scout profile will no longer display Instagram-verified statistics. You can still use Creator Scout with manually entered stats.
- A confirmation email will be sent to the email address on your Creator Scout account once deletion is complete.
- Deletion of Instagram data does not delete your Creator Scout account. To delete your entire account, contact contact@creatorscout.in.
4Automatic Deletion via Meta
When you remove Creator Scout from your connected Instagram apps, Meta sends an automatic data deletion request to our servers. We process these requests automatically — no manual action is needed on your part.
You can verify the status of an automatic deletion request by emailing contact@creatorscout.in with your Instagram username.

6YouTube Data Deletion
This page covers Instagram data deletion. If you have connected your YouTube channel to Creator Scout, you can delete your YouTube data by disconnecting it from your Creator Scout account settings (Settings → YouTube → Disconnect). All YouTube analytics and channel data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
You can also revoke Creator Scout’s access to your YouTube account directly from your Google account permissions page.
